Any advice for someone new to slack?

I don't think there is actually an officially sanctioned forum for slack, but theres many many users out there and I'm usually able to find what I need just by googling.

Out of the box, it doesn't handle dependencies. Slapt-get is a pretty good package management frontend for it though, that technically does handle dependencies, but not all slackware packages have dependency information in them, so it doesn't always take care of it for you. Dependency resolution isn't always needed, but it sure is convenient.
